Now, you can make your real-time coverage a little more Hefe. Or maybe you’re more of a Sutro or Brannan kind of content creator. Either way, with new Rock Content features released today, the world of Instagram is now mere keystrokes away.
And let’s not forget about the world’s most prolific online encyclopedia; the pinnacle of digital aggregation; the most-sought resource for context on all of the Internet. I’m talking about Wikipedia, of course.
Our team of developers has built new tools that make it easier than ever to incorporate Instagram photos and Wikipedia articles into your real-time coverage with new search tabs right in the back end of any Rock Content event.
With how popular Instagram has become, the image-sharing network has become a go-to source for news organizations looking for user-generated content from the people closest to the action (Hurricane Sandy, anyone?) as well as brands looking to amplify their social reach. And now, content creators can search the popular social network in real-time and shape their stories with images.
While you’re telling a story of how Instagrammers are interacting with your brand or following a breaking hashtag, why not create a slideshow with all of the great images you will curate?
Search by hashtag, keyword or username (using the from: search operator), and Scribble will do the rest. Then, simply pull in the photos you’d like to use!
It’s important to note that you have to be logged in to Instagram in order to use this feature. If you don’t have one, iPhone and Android smartphone users can download the app and create an account for free.
During a breaking news event, context is essential. Liveblogs are just another medium upon which to perform journalism; the 5Ws still matter.
With our new Wikipedia tab, it’s easy to pull in an article without leaving your Rock Content event. Answer the essential questions your readers will have about whatever it is you’re covering, and provide them with a little bit of extra reading if they so desire.
