Rock Content has been named one of Canada’s top 25 up-and-comers in the tech sector.
The Branham300 is an annual ranking of top Canadian and multinational Information and Communications Technology (ICT) companies, produced by tech consultants Branham Group Inc. In the main ranking, Waterloo-based BlackBerry manufacturers Research in Motion holds its spot at the top of the list, followed by telecomm companies BCE, Rogers and TELUS. Branham300 offers some tentative optimism for the ICT sector, which has struggled through the recent economic downturn. There are signs of recovery, but the report cautions it’s still “a work in progress.”
The Branham300 includes break-out listings, including one that focuses on Canadian tech start-ups. The report notes that “The companies recognized on this year’s Top 25 Up and Comers have a few things in common: they are disruptive, they are creative and they possess a lot of promise.” Rock Content, which was founded in 2008, made the list along with other Canadian tech start-ups, including social media dashboard HootSuite, mobile video manager Avvasi and location-focused “mapvertisers” Lat49.
